Blissfield Bluegrass on the river will be held August 29, 2015 at Bachmeyer Park, Blissfield, Michigan. The music begins at 11:00 a.m.; the line-up includes The Klein Family, Hand Hewn, Fossil Creek, Fulton County, Ernie Evans & Tyler Williams,Bridge County and New County Grass. This free afternoon will include fun for everyone! Come by the Association table and renew your membership during this event!

On August 30, 2015 from 1-7 p.m.at KC Campground, our Association is presenting a great afternoon of bluegrass to benefit the Jimmy Kittle Family. Jimmy and Gail’s oldest son, Josh, recently passed away after a life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis; this benefit will assist the family with expenses related to his final illness. Admission is $5, children under 16 free.

The line-up includes: Ernie Evans & Tyler Williams, Bobby Hutch & Grand Ol’ Country, Bridge County, Caney Creek, New County Grass, Fossil Creek and Harbourtown. Sound donated by Indian Ridge. Our sincere thanks to KC Campground for allowing free use of their facility and the bands for donating their performance and  Indian Ridge for donating their time and expertise.

SMBMA will be meeting at the Kentuckians of Michigan on Friday, May 8, 2015, before the Kentuckians regularly scheduled Friday Bluegrass show. We are grateful to our new member organization, the Kentuckians, for the opportunity to meet there. This serves a dual purpose, since we will be supporting a venue that presents bluegrass to the public. We will be jamming after a short business meeting until the regular show begins.

The details:

• Admission for the evening is discounted from $7 to $6 for SMBMA members.
• Bring your member card to take advantage of the discount.
• Everyone must pay the admission, this helps support the Kentuckians.
• Meeting at 5:30 p.m. and jam to follow.
  Dinner available from the Kentuckians Buffet.
• Performance at 8 p.m. by Bobby Hutch & Grand Ole Country, as scheduled by the Kentuckians, with jamming to continue between stage shows.
