The Charlotte Bluegrass Festival and the Southeast Michigan Bluegrass Association are please to announce plans for the 2027 Michigan Bluegrass Kids Academy. This event is designed for kids grade 4 through 12 who want to improve their bluegrass skills. This event will be held at the Charlotte Festival Grounds on June 22 and 23rd, before the stage shows begin on the 24th. Kids will receive training from touring musicians on their instrument of choice as well as ear training and jamming skills. We are hoping that some or all of the kids will be asked to perform with the band on stage on the 24th.
Watch for more information as it becomes available at the webpages of the Charlotte Bluegrass Festival and the Southeast Michigan Bluegrass Association, as well as the associated Facebook pages.
We are also hoping to bring educational presentations to local schools in the coming year. If you can help us do that with schools in your area, please reach out by email to smbluegrass@gmail.com.
Funding provided through grants and donations will help defray the cost to participants. The Southeast Michigan Bluegrass Music Association is a 5013c association. Donors will receive a letter acknowledging the donation and providing documentation for tax purposes. Donations may be mailed to:
